Revise atoms in six moves

Same stuff as lessons 1 and 2, but you do the work this time. Each part starts with a quick "here's the idea" and then you play with it. Your score saves on this device.

1

Put the models in order

The idea: each scientist improved the model because a new experiment didn't fit the old one. Tap each card to see what they did and why it mattered.

2

Flip the key words

The idea: most marks are lost by mixing up words like mass number and atomic number. Say the meaning out loud, then flip to check.

3

Build the atom they ask for

The idea: protons decide the element; protons + neutrons = mass number; for a neutral atom electrons = protons. An ion has gained or lost electrons. Shells fill 2, then 8, then 8.

p 0 · n 0 · e 0

4

Who found what?

The idea: the exam loves "which experiment showed…". Tap a scientist, then tap the discovery that matches.

5

Light check

The idea: an electron that drops gives out light. A bigger drop = more energy = bluer/violet. A small drop = red. Only fixed drops are possible, so you get lines.

6

True or busted?

The idea: these are the classic mistakes. Decide, and read why.

One-glance cheat strip

Z atomic number = protons
A mass number = protons + neutrons
neutrons = A − Z
isotope same protons, different neutrons
ion electrons gained (−) or lost (+)
shells 2, 8, 8
photon energy = size of the drop
